I did this site while a student at Berea College and
working in the Teaching, Learning and Technology Center. My supervisor
asked me to help the Althletics department, and we came up with a design
that we all liked. Previously the site had been cobbled together by various
students and had a very inconsistent feel, and a lot of dead links.
If you look at the site now, you will see a created by: Benjamin Orchard, with a date given. This is the correct information given on the homepage. There have subsequently been updates, and some of the pages retain the proper attribution, but a few state that they were created by someone else. Since I am no longer responsible for maintaining this, I cannot control the behavior of others.
So what am I responsible for? The layout, and all the graphics on the main page. Obviously, if you see any of the graphics from the front page elsewhere, I am also responsible for those. This includes the background and logos.
If I were currently redesigning the site, I would put more emphasis on usability, accessibility, and content oriented design. The front logo is, frankly, very difficult to read (black on blue background).
However, I include it as an example of how my design has changed, and how it remains the same. I still favor left side links in a easily definable and located spot. I now prefer layers over tables, and mostly, cascading style sheets. XHTML compliance and accessibility are also extremely important.
